Equipping children with eye implants

If a child has to undergo evisceration or enucleation in the wake of retinoblastoma or serious injury, he/she can often be equipped with an implant.

We also intervene on babies suffering from congenital malformations such as microphthalmia or anophthalmia.

Retinoblastomas (RB) are the most commonly occurring malignant intraocular tumors in children.

When this type of retinal tumor occurs, the surgeon proceeds to enucleate the eye. After 4-6 weeks of healing, an implant can be installed.
